Our Technology is Designed with our Patients in Mind

At William E. Poole DDS, we strive to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry. With our newly remodeled office we are able to help all patients achieve and most importantly, maintain, a beautiful healthy smile.

In addition to our state of the art digital records computer system, we have incorporated multiple new dental technologies to improve patient’s comfort and safety.

Digital X-Ray Technology

Your appointment begins with a careful review of your dental and medical history, and a series of digital radiographs. Our newly acquired Dexis radiograph system coupled with our panoramic radiograph system (Orthopantomograph OP30 Instrumentarium) allows us to accurately detect diagnose and treat any hidden dental issues, many times before they cause severe problems. This preventative approach ultimately saves you time, expense and discomfort. Our panoramic system allows us to take xrays without placing a sensor in the mouth. This is especially convenient for children or patients with a sensitive gag reflex.

Digital radiographs are much safer for the patient compared to traditional x-rays. By using a digital sensor rather than traditional xray film, we use up to 90% less energy as compared to old methods. This coupled with protective aprons yields radiation exposure similar to going for a walk outdoors.

Single Tooth Anesthesia Technology

When appropriate, we utilize an anesthesia system that is very different than the traditional dental syringe. The STA is a computer-controlled injection system that incorporates pressure sensing technology to deliver a safe and comfortable dose of anesthetic around the tooth. This device is sometimes referred to as “the wand”. Many times the patient feels nothing when the STA is used.

The advantage of this technology is multifold. One, is comfortable for the patient. Two, we may begin treatment immediately with no waiting period for anesthesia. Finally, the patient’s tongue and/or lip do not lose sensation. This means the patient may go about eating and talking normally as soon as they leave the office.
This has been very popular with our patients!
